Individual Therapy
I offer two types of individual therapy. Though they are not mutually exclusive--you could move back and forth between them--I generally suggest that we start with one. In the first few sessions we will explore your circumstances and I will develop a recommendation about which type of therapy might best fit your needs.
It may be useful to know some general differences between the two approaches. EMDR is a more directive type of therapy: there are very specific steps and stages that are guided by the therapist. The talk therapy that I offer is much less directive. We follow your energy, where you want to go, and what you want to explore. My role is to listen attentively, reflect back to you, and invite you into deeper territory--all without interrupting or steering your own innate process. Neither approach is about giving advice. Both understand you to be the expert on you and both facilitate your own capacity to heal. They differ only in how the therapy taps into that capacity. Both of these approaches are supported by empirical evidence of their effectiveness. EMDR is especially well-researched and validated across many studies.

I charge $140 for a 60-minute session. I am in-network with First Choice, Premera, Kaiser Permanente (PPO plans), and Regence.
